Verb groups
There are three verb groups in Japanese.
They are Group 1 (Strong verb) , Group 2 (Weak verb) and Group 3 (Irregular verb).
Generally speaking, Dictionary form or ます form is used to find the group of a verb.
The verb groups with Dictionary form
| する、noun + する、来(く)る、連(つ)れて来る、もって来る | Group 3 (Irregular verb) |
| 'e' sound + る at the end | Group 2 (Weak verb) |
| う, く, す, つ, ぬ, む, る, ぐ or ぶ at the end | Group 1 (Strong verb) |
